The once-good-friends are not so close anymore!

PC is going to star in Kunal Kohli's epic love story
PC is going to star in Kunal Kohli's epic love story

It is rumoured that buddies Shahid and PC’s ‘relationship’ may be on the rocks due to her ‘friendship’ with SRK. They refused to give joint bytes or even pose together during a recent shoot of a coffee commercial at Madh Island. They only talked about the brand they were endorsing and not each other.

When Priyanka was asked if the rumours were true, she answered with a “yes and no”. She claimed it was because they were afraid of losing natural light that they were forced to interact with the media separately.

However, Shahid and Priyanka will be working together at Madh Island again to shoot a qawwali for Kunal Kohli’s epic love story. The movie, which has not been titled yet is a rom-com and set in three different eras - 1920s, 1960s and 2012 and is on a luxurious set which recreates pre-partition Punjab.

Let’s hope that Shahid and PC have no issues at Madh Island this time around!

Abhay and Sonam are friends again

They have signed a film, putting the ‘Aisha’ debacle behind them

Abhay Deol
Abhay Deol

Abhay Deol and Sonam Kapoor have apparently put aside their differences to work together in Rajkumar Santoshi’s upcoming movie. What’s more Sonam’s dad Anil Kapoor who was involved in a verbal duel with Abhay Deol post the release of ‘Aisha’ has decided to produce the film which will be a comedy.

The Abhay-Anil tiff dates back to ‘Aisha’ which was Kapoor’s home production and starred daughter Sonam in the lead. Abhay then publicly expressed his displeasure over the way ‘Aisha’ was being made. He cattily remarked that a huge amount was being spent on the actress’ designer wardrobe while neglecting the story and characterisation. He added that he would never work in a film like ‘Aisha’ again. His comments shocked both Sonam and daddy Anil Kapoor. Eventually, Anil fired back at Abhay on ‘Koffee with Karan,’ saying that Abhay needed serious help as he was doing all the wrong things. Deol junior then retorted, “Anil is right about me doing “all the wrong things”. Aisha is the biggest proof of that.”

The verbal pow-wow continued but with time tempers cooled down. It was said that Anil had invited Abhay to the party that was held for Tom Cruise in Mumbai. It was then that Santoshi’s untitled project was discussed with the 35-year-old actor.

Meanwhile Sonam too looks happy to put the past behind her. She revealed to a tabloid recently that whatever happened between Abhay and her father had nothing to do with her and she’d be happy to work with him again. Hopefully this new-found friendship will last!

After being in limbo for years, the much-anticipated movie will be released in 2012.

This will be Farah Khan's fourth movie as a director

Looks like 2012 is going to be a brilliant year for the very talented, Farah Khan, who has directed box office hits like ‘Main Hoon Na’ and ‘Om Shanti Om’. ‘Happy New Year’ is a movie that Farah has wanted to direct since 2009 and it is finally going to be produced next year!

When approached by the media, Farah stated, "Yes, I am making the same ‘Happy New Year’ that I wanted to. The idea of the project remains the same. However, it is only now that the script is ready. I am very happy with the outcome. “

Although everything seems to be falling into place for Farah, the title, ‘Happy New Year’ lies with SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment. When the movie was conceptualised, Farah did not have a production company and had requested SRK to produce the film. Since then, she started her own production company, Three’s Company and is very hopeful she can get the title back from SRK and produce it herself.

Director, Mayur Puri is going to write the dialogues for ‘Happy New Year’ but the leading cast is yet to be decided. Looks like 2012 is going to be a great year for the Farah Khan and we wish her all the best!

Katrina is a copycat

er ‘Chikni Chameli’ number is allegedly a rip-off of a Marathi song

Katrina Kaif
Katrina Kaif

Katrina’s superhot item number ‘Chikni Chameli’ in Karan Johar’s upcoming movie ‘Agneepath’ is in the headlines once again. The song is apparently a rip-off of a Marathi song ‘Kombadi palali’ that featured in the movie ‘Jatra’ in 2006. However, brothers Atul and Ajay Gogavale who scored the music for the original Marathi track were quick to defend themselves. “Yes ‘Chikni Chameli’ is a Hindi version of our Marathi song. We had to make the Hindi version even better. So it’s different in a way,” they said.

Sources have revealed that singer Shreya Ghoshal has lent her voice to Katrina Kaif in the song which is touted to be the next ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’. Now, that’s a tall order to match. But when it’s Kat grooving to a hot number, does it matter whether it’s an original or a copy?

Did SRK's cycling stunt upset Salman?

Did SRK`s cycling stunt upset Salman?Apparently, the 'Bodyguard' star made it clear that he wasn't too impressed with it

It was a pleasant surprise when Shah Rukh Khan stepped out cycling with daughter Suhaana on a bright and sunny afternoon last week.

However, it seems his one-time friend and co-star Salman Khan wasn't too impressed by the act. Nevertheless, fans and even the media excitedly gathered around to watch the father-daughter duo enjoy the breezy ride.

Salman gave his comments about the incident to a few photographers at an event just a day later. Says an onlooker, "Salman is very friendly with the photographers and he usually chats up with them whenever he gets an opportunity.

So the minute he stepped out for a photo-op at a car launch, the photographers told him about how SRK informed everyone that he was going cycling." Apparently all Sallu did was smile and acknowledged that he had seen the pictures.

Adds the source, "A few photographers even asked Salman why he never invites anyone when he goes cycling. (Salman often cycles even to his shoots).

Veena Malik FHM nude photoshoot was a pre-planned publicity stunt

SHOCKING: Veena Malik-FHM nude photoshoot was a pre-planned publicity stunt!

SHOCKING: Veena Malik-FHM nude photoshoot was a pre-planned publicity stunt! Ever since the Veena Malik-FHM nude photoshoot controversy broke out, there were contradictory versions given by both, the Pakistani starlet and the international magazine, about her nude cover shoot, shot by photographer Vishal Saxena.

There were legal notices and counter notices sent by Veena and FHM to each other. It seemed like a never-ending puzzle till recently, when prominent fashion designer Umair Zafar decided to spill the beans.

Speaking to The Times of India, Umair states, “A few days before the FHM cover was out, photographer Vishal Saxena told me to be prepared for a big dhamaka.”

Umair reveals to the paper that “Veena Malik did the shoot topless with her hands covering the upper part of her body. She was wearing a bikini panty below, which was later on morphed and removed electronically by photographer Vishal Saxena. All this was pre-decided and agreed upon by all concerned.”

He adds, “In order to save face and avoid the repercussions that it could have - both in Pakistan and in India and yet avail of all the publicity Veena Malik and FHM magazine had pre-decided that Veena Malik would send a defamation notice to the magazine and the magazine in turn would then send her a counter-notice. Yeah sab mili bhagat hein.”

“The entire episode had been meticulously planned by Veena Malik, photographer Vishal Saxena and FHM magazine representatives. Even the defamation notice was prepared in advance, ” Umair further revealed.

Umair, who has done many shoots with Vishal Saxena and styled clothes for Sayali Bhagat, Nisha Kothari and others, points out that Vishal specializes in nude shoots and has done several such shoots with Sherlyn Chopra, Priya Soni and more.

Bollywood publicist Dale Bhagwagar, because of whom Veena Malik received an offer for India’s most popular reality show Bigg Boss, isn’t surprised at Umair’s revelation.

When asked about the fashion designer’s expose on Veena, Dale says, “I am reminded of a song in an old Mithun Chakraborty film called Mujrim. It went, ‘Mujrim na kehna mujhe logon, mujrim toh saara zamaana hai. Jo pakda gaya, who chor hai, jo bach gaya, who sayana hai.’ And Veena Malik seems to be caught.”

Dale and Veena a long way! Before Bigg Boss happened to her, the Pakistani actress had falsely alleged that Dale’s PR client and Bollywood actress Neetu Chandra was involved with Pakastani cricketer Mohammad Asif in the international match fixing scandal.

Safeguarding his client, the PR expert had vehemently denied Veena’s claims in national media through a press meet, ensuring that the denial became bigger news than Veena’s frivolous claims.

So huge was the uproar that both Neetu Chandra and Veena Malik were offered Bigg Boss. While Neetu did not participate, Veena gladly accepted the offer. Incidentally, she attained more fame by romancing actor Ashmit Patel on the show; another of Dale’s PR clients, who he handled for a specific period of three months during Bigg Boss.

After returning from the show, Veena even met up with the public relations specialist for her branding in Indian media, but they never worked together. Now it is also rumoured that Dale has a hand in bringing out the truth through Umair.

Though Dale admits that he did chat with photographer Vishal Saxena as well as FHM editor Kabeer Sharma last week, the PR says, “I do not know Umair Zafar personally. Veena and I were in touch long ago after Bigg Boss Season 4. But we moved on and I have rarely spoken to her after that.”

Meanwhile, a birdie tells us that Veena Malik’s visa for her stay in India is about to expire on December 24 and she has not received an extension, meaning, she might be forced to return to her home country Pakistan amidst the controversy and widespread protests about it in her country.

I find Kareena extremely beautiful

`I find Kareena extremely beautiful`By now the world and its favourite fashion-photographer know that Imran Khan is a huge Kareena Kapoor fan. Imran, in fact, has been a fan from childhood.

So when the two were cast together in Shakun Batra’s Ek Main Aur Ek Tu it was for Imran like a dream come true…a dream that he has captured in photographs that he took while shooting for the film.

There are now about a 100 pictures taken personally by Imran of the beauteous Kareena. When producer Karan Johar saw the quality of these pictures he was taken aback.

Karan has now apparently suggested an exhibition of Kareena’s pictures by Imran Khan. A suggestion that has been gladly accepted by Imran.

Says a source, “Imran is a big Bebo fan. He finds her incredibly beautiful and from the time he used to watch her films as a teenager. With time, Imran feels Bebo has become even more beautiful.

When he began working with Bebo Imran just couldn’t stop staring at her. He had to find some way of diverting his attention from her looks, so he could focus on their shots together. He did so by snapping her on his I-Phone any and every way he could.

At first Bebo was embarrassed by her co-star’s constant clicking, then she was intrigued, finally she was utterly fascinated. Bebo is very impressed by the quality of Imran’s pictures of her. ”

The exhibition of Imran’s pics of Kareena is now being planned.

Imran’s spokesperson confirms, “It’s true Imran has clicked more than a 100 pics of Kareena on his I-Phone. He finds her breathtakingly beautiful. And those pictures are of a highly professional quality. Not too many people know this, but Imran is a very competent photographer. ”

Adds Imran Khan, “I find Kareena one of the most beautiful actresses that we have. When I was looking at her through viewfinder, I realized that camera loves her.

People who have seen these pictures keep saying that I am a good photographer but actually its her beauty and versatility of her face which is doing the trick. "

Junglee Billi Priyanka is proud of sister Parineeti

`Junglee Billi` Priyanka is proud of sister ParineetiPriyanka Chopra is again the 'Junglee Billi' in Don 2, and she loves playing 'Roma' because of the role's love-hate relationship with the title character.

In the first 'Don' film, Roma had fallen in love with Vijay, the good guy, only to find it was actually Don at the end. She had vowed revenge towards him for killing her family but he managed to give her the slip in the end.

"I am Don's Junglee Billi, but also a cop who's after his life. The most interesting part in this film for me is the relationship between Roma and Don because that's evolved tremendously, " Gulf News quoted her as saying.

According to Chopra, even Don and Roma don't know what they want.

"Roma hates him. He betrayed her. Four years later she trains to be a cop and her only ambition in life is to catch this guy who killed her brother and sister-in-law and made her fall in love with him and then left her. So it's a warped relationship between Roma and Don, " she added.

On Don's feelings for Roma she says, "Roma is, as he says, 'his bad habit'.

"He's not sure if he loves her or hates her and even I don't understand that even though I'm playing the character, " she said. "And that's what makes it interesting. There are strings that bind them yet they can't stand each other, " she added.

Priyanka Chopra is worried that people will get to know too much of her private life through the lyrics she has written for her debut album.

"We're hoping to record a single in the next couple of months and let's see where it leads," Gulf News quoted her as saying.

"You know, the more I've written, the more I've realised I'm spilling out my life in the music and it's really scary because I'm a very private person and when I read my lyrics I go, 'My God, it's me!'

You can tell so much about people by just reading their lyrics," she said.

Proud of sister Parineeti

Apart from Anushka and Parineeti, the film also stars Aditi Sharma and Dipannita Sharma.

My life is not an open book and I don't act for money, claims SRK

My life is not an open book and I don`t act for money, claims SRKShah Rukh Khan's upcoming movie 'Don 2: The Chase Continues' may be expected to rake in a lot of moolah but the star insists he doesn't act in movies for money.

Khan claims that when filmmakers come to him with offers he doesn't talk money with them.

"Very few people know about this except the people who work with me. For the last eight or ten years, I don't ask for a fixed fee," Gulf News quoted him as saying at the Dubai International Film Festival.

"I tell them you can rake in all the money by utilising my name and let the film go as big as possible. And when you do make the money out of the film, you decide what you want to give [me]," he said.

The self-made billionaire insists his love for the craft transcends his love for the material world.

"The biggest gift an actor can get is when he can act in front of the world. There's no bigger salary than that," he said. "The only thing that turns me on is work, work and more work," he added.

My life is not an open book

Shah Rukh Khan has the gift of the gab and is known for his wit and humour. He comes across as a "people's actor", shaking a leg with them at almost every event and his fans claim to know SRK inside out, but the superstar thinks otherwise.

"My life is not as open book, the way people consider it. When I come in front of you people, it is mostly work related. I feel that you people belong to the same business as me so the questions that you ask, I usually give a good and detailed answer to that," said SRK here at the unveiling of his official opus "King Khan - The Official Opus of Shah Rukh Khan".

The actor, who has spent more than 23 years in the industry, says his only motto is to entertain the public.

"I have done so many films that it becomes difficult to find something new. I want that if people want to work with me, I should have something new to tell from the work that I have done. I want to continue entertaining people the way I have."

"I want to entertain the kids, the wives... I want to make films through which I can entertain the entire family for a few hours," he said.

The actor has been a hit ever since he made an appearance in the popular TV serial "Fauji" in 1988 and then "Circus". After his debut in Bollywood with "Deewana" in 1992, he never looked back.

Shah Rukh is currently busy promoting his latest film "Don 2: The King Is Back", co-produced by him, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani.

He is also co-producing "Student Of The Year" with Karan Johar.

Where's the winning amount, KBC 5 winner

Where's the winning amount: KBC winner yet to receive Rs 5 crore

Where`s the winning amount: KBC winner yet to receive Rs 5 croreSushil Kumar hasn't been given the Rs 5 crore he won on the show

Sushil Kumar, India's first Rs 5-crore winner on Kaun Banega Crorepati might have to move out of his hometown in Bihar, just to let his family live in peace.

Apparently, while he still hasn't received a single paisa of the winning amount, he is being flooded with requests for doling out monetary help to people from all across the country, even abroad. Naturally, Sushil doesn't know how to handle it.

Speaking from Motihari he said, "I get letters from all over the country, and now even from abroad for financial help.

The amount requested ranges from a few thousands to Rs 5 to 6 lakh. There are letters coming from even abroad. This morning, I got a letter from a needy Indian family in Sri Lanka. How do I know how needy they really are?"

Worse, the money-seekers have started walking into Sushil's home.

The distressed man adds, "People walk in with their requests at any time of the day without warning, often when there's no male member in the house. My wife and the other ladies feel insecure."

Speaking about the prize money that was promised to him, Sushil points out, "I haven't received a single paisa yet.

Nor have I got any intimation or call from the channel as to when the money will reach me. I don't even know how much I'll get after tax deduction, etc. Basically, I am being flooded with requests to share the fund that I don't even have."

Sushil is very clear about whom he wants to share his money with.

"Why should I give money to people I don't know? I'll use the money for causes that are dear to me. But first my family and me need to improve our condition. Our home is yet to be repaired. We're waiting for the money."

Thankfully, Sushil admits that he is yet to get any extortion call, which is quite prevalent in parts of Bihar.

"Thanks to the media which has made my KBC victory a national cause, I am saved from rangdaari (extortion).

But I wonder if these requests that are constantly invading my family's privacy, are not a form of rangdaari."

He now intends to write a book on his experiences after the triumph on KBC.

"Believe me, I've learnt so much about human nature in the last one month. It would make a very interesting story, " says Sushil.

The channel promised to revert with details on Sushil's prize money, but they didn't.
