Birthday boy John doesn't believe in making noise
Saturday, 17 December 2011
It is John Abraham's birthday today and the man is indeed happy with the way the year gone by treated time. He started off with an appearance in 7 KHOON MAAF, moved to on FORCE and then ended the year with DESI BOYZ. Even though FORCE and DESI BOYZ turned out to be earning preposition while his performance of a rockstar in 7 KHOON MAAF was critically acclaimed, it comes across as a surprise that John hasn't made much noise about that.
Why is that the case because he has already suffered his share of flak when his JHOOTHA HI SAHI and AASHAYEIN didn't work last year? Doesn't he feel that it is about time he makes his successes count?
"See, you know that I am not a guy who will tell industry and trade that 'Look, I showed you guys what I am capable of'. On the contrary I am just the opposite and choose to move on with my films instead of making any wild announcements and declarations," says John.
"If my films have tasted commercial success as well as critical acclaim then all credit to my directors here. I firmly believe that they are the captain of the ship. If a film works then it's because the director made it work. On the other hand if a film fails, everyone associated with it is collectively responsible."
Well, looking at the kind of statements that John is making in defense of the director community, don't be surprised if a few years down the line he ends up wearing the director's hat himself. What say John?
