Will Bipasha spoil Kareena's party?

Bipasha Basu and Madhavan could be playing reel life JODI BREAKERS in the namesake film. However they may well prove to be on-screen JODI BREAKERS forSaif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor. Buzz in the town is that AGENT VINOD is all set for February release. However there could well be a spanner in the plan for this multi crore extravaganza since Bipasha-Madhavan have made their intentions quite clear around arriving on the same date.

''JODI BREAKERS has been shot with clockwork precision and the entire shooting is now completed as planned. They were the first to announce their arrival on 24th February. Now if AGENT VINOD wants to come on the same date, they would have to give it some rethinking', informs a trade source, 'Since already there have been so many speculations around the release date of the Saif-Kareena film, for how long can other films be expected to hold on to their plans or reschedule them?''

However it seems unlikely that AGENT VINOD would now change its decision since it is a given that the film would release in February. With Karan Johar already kick-starting promotion for Kareena starrer EK MAIN AUR EKK TU and announcing its arrival in the weekend leading to Valentine's Day, one can't expect another Kareena film a week before or after it, hence leaving only 24th February as the available date.

''AGENT VINOD plans to arrive on a very huge print count. On the other hand JODI BREAKERS is also sure about the same release date. If at all this clash happens, it would be huge since Kareena and Bipasha share an unpleasant history'', the source continues.

For the uninitiated, Kareena and Bipasha go a long way back to the days of AJNABEE (2001). Bipasha had made her debut with the film and had quite a few verbal spats that were made public as well. Things had cooled off during the making of OMKARA when both actresses had claimed that it was time to act mature and move on.

Well, one just hopes that the same maturity holds good even now and there is nothing ugly about Bipasha and Madhavan acting as JODI BREAKERS for Bebo and her 'Vinod'!

Anushka and Ranveer at DIFF

The stars chat about their movie 'Ladies vs Ricky Bahl' at a press conference in Dubai

Ranveer and Anushka are excited about their second movie together
Ranveer and Anushka are excited about their second movie together

Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma are back on the silver screen again together. After the über success of 'Band Baaja Baarat', their first film with each other, Ranveer and Anushka are feeling the pressure as all eyes are on their next movie 'Ladies vs Ricky Bahl' which has its world premiere at DIFF this evening. When questioned whether they are caving under the pressure of the audience’s expectations, the stars said they are indeed feeling the pressure but will are confident they are doing their best.

Ranveer made headlines with his debut last year and he was called a natural actor with incredible talent. When asked at the press conference about his role, Ranveer said that his character was very exciting to play: “As conmen tend to be, he is a real charmer. The charmer part came to me naturally as I’m like that in real-life too!” Yes, we’re happy to say that, despite the pressure, Ranveer has his sense of humour intact.

When speaking with Anushka about her character, Ishika, the beautiful actress who looked superbly stylish in a black jumpsuit, responded, “Ishika’s a modern Indian girl - intelligent and very hardworking.”
What about the pressure they are facing regarding the movie and the audience's reaction? The stars responded, “They (the audience) always say ‘We expect a lot from you’. What can you do? You just try your best.” Anushka added, “The pressure is always there but one has to disconnect at times. We’ve just tried to make an honest film.”

There’ve been rumours that 'Ladies vs Ricky Bahl' is similar to the Hollywood film 'John Tucker Must Die', but the stars of the Hindi movie dismiss that talk. “Our movie is absolutely different from 'John Tucker Must Die'. It’s just the idea of the movie featuring three girls and a guy that’s making people think that. The cultural setting and characterisations are very different.”

The movie, however, promises to be lots of fun with Ranveer Singh’s different looks and lots of other gals starring as well (including Priyanka Chopra’s cousin Parineeti Chopra). The fun continued behind the scenes too. There was an incident in which Anushka was nearly swept to sea! Anushka reveals more, “I never felt stupider. I am a good swimmer but while shooting on a jet ski, a huge wave came at us. It was like a mini tsunami and I was very scared.” Ranveer, ever charming and dapper, came to her rescue: “I was trying to be pretty macho to protect the lady but I knew what was going on inside. It was fun to see Anushka, who is usually calm and controlled, getting scared.”

With fun, chemistry and a great cast, this flick looks like a winner with plenty of humour. Ranveer says, “It’s hardly an intellectual film, it’s a fun film. Just go with your popcorn and enjoy.”

Emraan Hashmi will be acting in the upcoming movie, 'Jannat 2'

Emraan promises that the sequel to 2008’s surprise hit ‘Jannat,’ will reveal scandals that will leave the audience startled. He is stoked about the project which brings to light the illegal trading of arms.

“It’s going to be one of the most talked about movies in 2012. The acting, the music, everything’s just legendary,” the actor said. In ‘Jannat,’ Emraan played a bookie who bets on cricket matches to make money. The movie received great reviews as an interesting exposé on match fixing in cricket.

Emraan believes that ‘Jannat’s’ success was because of a well-researched script. For him, the preparation included talking to cops and criminals and reading the book, ‘Fallen Heroes: The Story That Shook The Nation.’ The book talked about the infamous sting operation by Tehelka that showed some Indian cricketers accepting bribe money.

Emraan Hashmi also believes that director Kunal Deshmukh and scriptwriter Vishesh Bhatt left no stone unturned while researching for ‘Jannat 2.’ The movie is produced by Mahesh Bhatt’s younger brother Mukesh Bhatt and stars model Esha Gupta.

Saif-Deepika's 'Cocktail' gets delayed

Saif-Deepika`s `Cocktail` gets delayedThe shoot of Saif-Deepika's upcoming film is running behind schedule, thanks to some unruly weather in South Africa

The unit of Saif Ali Khan's next home venture Cocktail, which is being shot in Cape Town, South Africa is currently facing nature's fury.

Bad weather condition is causing the delay in the shoot of the film and consequently making a heavy dent in the producer's pocket.

A birdie from Cape Town reveals, "We are way behind the schedule due to bad weather conditions and excessive winds.

Since most of our scenes are shot, we have no choice but to wait for the conditions to improve. The source adds, "One has little control over such unforeseen things.

It was supposed to be a 15 day-schedule but we have been here for 20 days and still have not been able to finish the shooting.

If it goes on like this I am afraid we may have to come back leaving the shoot midway. It's quite expensive for the producers to park the entire crew in Cape Town for a week without work."

The film directed by Homi Adjania stars Deepika Padukone and a new girl opposite Saif Ali Khan. The producers remained unavailable for comment.
