You've seen the teaser promo of AGNEEPATH on the internet, now you can see it on the big screen. The theatrical promo of Karan Johar's AGNEEPATH, directed by Karan Malhotra, hit screens on friday along with DON 2. Bollywood film analysts and critics (who have watched the new promo) react. One of the acclaimed film critic says, "After I saw the theatrical promo, I felt that this film has no room for subtlety. There's hardcore action, blood and gore, and lots of drama. I haven't seen Hrithik Roshan do such action in a long time. Rishi Kapoor looks interesting as the bad guy. Also Hrithik, in his own style, is making it clear that he is not trying to ape Amitabh Bachchan from the original film. His character is younger, more driven and proactive, and at the end of the promo he comes across as ruthlessly cold and in control while speaking to Kancha Cheena. The promo was so unlike what you would expect from a remake. It looks larger than life, meaty and glossy. It makes me want to watch it. With the promos, the film has created its own box office market space."
Says a Trade analyst and film critic, "The raw appeal of the promo simply stunned me like a zor ka jhatka! It has released with DON 2. The first promo of DABANGG, when it had released during Christmas 2009, was most talked about and this one will be too. This promo is more powerful than the teaser promo, as it has dialogues."
On Hrithik's impact in the promo, he adds, "After a long time, Hrithik will be seen in a massy, action-oriented role. He is seen bashing up people. Till now, Hrithik's roles were limited to a few boundaries - with AGNEEPATH he will break those boundaries."
Comments another trade analyst, "I haven't seen the theatrical promo but I loved the first teaser of AGNEEPATH. It gives a very grand feeling and although I am not a fan of the original film, this teaser-trailer was so compelling that it held my complete attention watching Hrithik and Sanjay Dutt together. Chikni Chameli was the icing on the cake! Sanju's get-up is menacing. Hrithik wants to do something different in each film and AGNEEPATH will be his first out-and-out action film. You can see the intensity on his face in the promo, and know he will give an intense performance in the film. There's a lot of curiosity surrounding the film."
