Ex-girlfriend makes a comeback in Salman's life

Friday, 30 December 2011

Ex-girlfriend makes a comeback in Salman`s lifeSangeeta Bijalani was a very prominent part of Salman’s guest-list at his birthday binge.

Says a guest from Salman’s celebration, “Sangeeta was very much a comfortable part of Salman’s family.

She mingled freely with the guests and was an integral part of the Khan family. Salman has reached that comfort zone with Sangeeta where she can blend with the family without being attached to Salman. ”

Interestingly the guest-list at this year’s birthday party included very few female guests, corroborating the growing belief that Salman is now looking at a serious permanent relationship.

Says the guest, “Besides Sangeeta Bijalani who was there as part of Salman’s family, the only recognizable female guests were Kangna Ranaut, Shriya Saran, Diane Hayden and Mughda Godse. Salman kept a distance from the ladies and danced the night away with his buddies. ”

Anil Kapoor was not only there with his brother Boney Kapoor, Anil broke into his 1 2 Ka 4 dance number from Ram Lakhan on the dancefloor with Salman. (And we thought Anil had said he was mourning for his father! ).

Says the guest, “Every time a song played, the relevant star was pulled to the dancefloor by Salman. Imran Khan who was there with his wife Avantika joined Salman for a jig when Pappu can’t dance came on. ”

Salman and his close friend Sajid Nadiadwala were constantly in serious conversation. Shirish Kunder who will be directing Salman in Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kick was there with his wife Farah Khan.

Clearly the couple’s friendship with Shah Rukh Khan is over.

The highlight of the night was Salman and Sonu Sood’s joint efforts on the dancefloor to the sound of Munni badnaam. Apparently Salman pulled out all stops and danced as though there was no tomorrow.

Says the guest, “He was very comfortable in male company, polite and aloof with the ladies.

This birthday Salman was clearly in a mellow and guarded frame of mind. We suspect he’d be married by the time the next birthday is around. ”

Salman played the perfect host. “He looked after us so wonderfully. On his earlier birthdays he would just be there while we made ourselves comfortable at his farmhouse.

But this time he looked after every guest personally, right until Wednesday afternoon when the party ended.

Salman made sure every guest stayed for the breakfast of parathas. He told all of us we couldn’t leave without tasting the ‘brilliant parathas’ that are made on his farm. No one refused. You can’t say no to Salman. ”

Interestingly Farhan Akhtar, fresh from his collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan, was also present at Salman’s birthday bash in Panvel.

Salman, we hear, is seriously considering a film for Farhan and Ritesh Sidhwani’s banner.

Sonu Sood who flew down for just 5 hours on Tuesday night from Hyderabad said it was a trip worth making. “Not everyone gets a call from Salmanbhai to come to his birthday.

I couldn’t refuse. I flew out of Hyderabad at 9 pm on Tuesday, reached Salman’s farmhouse in Panvel by 12. 30, stayed for four hours and flew back to Hyderabad in the morning. I’d do the same again. But only for Salmanbhai. ”

We can't keep our mouths shut

We can`t keep our mouths shutIt is said that catfights are inevitable when two actresses work together in a film, but Bipasha Basu and Sonam Kapoor proved it wrong by bonding well on the sets of their forthcoming action thriller "Players". Both shared a "talkative" equation while shooting.

"Something very similar between us is that we can't keep our mouths shut. We just talk about ourselves. We are one of those girls who just want to talk about ourselves," Sonam told reporters here Thursday.

Came Bipasha's quick admission. "Abhishek (Bachchan) gets tired because we talk to each other and keep talking about ourselves."

The actresses denied any catfights. "As you see we are not having any catfights, Abhishek told us we are not making enough news because we are not fighting!" said Bipasha.

Often referred to as "talkathon" by her friends, Bipasha is quick to admit Sonam takes the cake when it comes to yapping.

"I really like to listen what Sonam talks about, so I sometimes keep quiet. I used to think I am very talkative, my friends even given me a name 'talkathon'. But when I met Sonam, I realised there is someone who talks more than me," she said.

272 kg Japanese Sumo Yamamotoyama enters Bigg Boss 5

272 kg Japanese Sumo Yamamotoyama enters Bigg Boss 5If Bigg Boss 5's multiple entries have surprised you time and again, this time round you're sure to be flabbergasted beyond words.

Proving to the audiences that Bigg Boss 5 can never get predictable, the show will witness the grand entry of 601-pound Japanese Sumo Wrestling Champion Yamamotoyama aka Yama in the final week of the show.

Given his weight and clocking in at a height of 6'4", Yama is not only the largest Sumo wrestler ever, but he is actually the largest Japanese human ever as well.

After having been cooped up inside the house for weeks, the contestants will definitely breathe a sigh of relief upon seeing a new face.

However, this relief will be shortlived, especially when they realize that the newest entrant has one major drawback – he doesn’t speak or understand English! The multiple-title winning sumo wrestler will spend a few days in the house and bring some much-needed comic relief to the currently temperamental housemates.

To accommodate the needs of Yama during his stay in the Bigg Boss house, special arrangements have been made inside the house for him.

The dining area will be converted into a bedroom-cum-eating area for the sumo wrestler to give him the enough space for carrying out his day-to-day activities.

Being of Japanese origin, Yama is used to eating while being seated on the floor, but it will be interesting to note if the housemates will be able to accompany him while he eats his fill.

Also, because the sumo wrestler faces a language barrier, he will be given special placards with pictoral representations that will help him to communicate his needs to the housemates.

And finally, to ensure that Yama remains entertained, special activities have been planned during his stay in the house that will help audiences to get some special insights into the life of a professional Japanese sumo wrestler.

Despite of the ensured fun element that Yama will bring to the Bigg Boss house, how the housemates will react to this interesting new addition so close to the end of their Bigg Boss journey remains to be seen.

Will they be kind towards Yama or will they just piss him off with their constant bickering?

Is Karan Johar under immense stress?

KARAN
KARAN JOHAR

It seems Karan Johar is maintaining calm on the exterior, especially when it comes interaction with media for his upcoming films. However as per insiders, the filmmaker is going through some real rough times, courtesy the job he currently has in hand to ensure that his upcoming films sail through smoothly.

"Karan's AGNEEPATH and EK MAIN AUR EKK TU would be released within a fortnight of each other. Now he isn't someone who is new to multiple productions. After all, last year he had released WE ARE FAMILY, I HATE LUV STORYS as well as his own directorial affair MY NAME IS KHAN. However they were still spaced better. Today, Karan is going through some real hectic times because he is also in the middle of shooting STUDENT OF THE YEAR," says a close associate.

None of it was planned this way though. Both EK MAIN AUR EKK TU as well as AGNEEPATH were originally planned to arrive last year and that too at a comfortable distance from each other.

"Date tussle resulted in EK MAIN AUR EKK TU getting pushed to next year," acknowledges Karan, "Then AGNEEPATH was a monumental film and director Karan Malhotra too carried a vision to pitch the film on a huge scale. Its production was spread over months due to which the film had to be pushed to January next year."

Resultantly, this year Dharma Productions didn't have a single release but Karan has quite some catching up to do next year. It is obvious that his attention is being diverted in all directions and since he is the front channel for his production house, majority of media events as well as other promotional activities require him to take the centre stage.

Come on Karan, perk up. We are sure 'Chikni Chameli' would do the trick and charge you all over again!

OMG is also special as it further strengthens the HERA PHERI jodi of Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal. Paresh, who also acted in the original play, wanted to do the adaptation for the big screen and he couldn't think of anyone else than his long term friend Akshay Kumar.

CHECK OUT: Akshay Kumar to rule in 2012?

''Kanji Vs Kanji' was an instant hit when released in December 2009 with more than 400 shows. It was then launched in Hindi with title 'Kishen Vs Kaniya''.

Neil: Bipasha & I share a great comfort level

Due to the fact that Neil Nitin Mukesh is playing a computer wizard in the film, many have equated his characterization to that of Ed Norton in THE ITALIAN JOB, the Hollywood action thriller which has been adapted by PLAYERS. The actor had a similar role to play there though Neil insists that things have been twisted in a big way for PLAYERS. Further to that he adds that 'Spider' (the name of his character) has a very high cool quotient to him.

view PLAYERS movie stills
view PLAYERS movie stills

"This coolness comes from the fact that Spider cares a damn," smiles Neil, "He is confident of himself and doesn't try too hard to be noticed. Personally, even I am also like that as I too believe that coolness should come from within yourself. You can wear Armani, Prada or Louise Vitton and still look fake or instead you could pick up stuff from 'Fashion Street' (Mumbai) and still come across as cool and confident. It's the personality that matters which brings with the confidence and coolness quotient."

CHECK OUT: Bipasha- PLAYERS is bigger than THE ITALIAN JOB

This means that while Neil is definitely taking the cool route with PLAYERS, there isBipasha Basu who has gone all hot and sultry all over again as 'Riya'. Since the two have already worked together in AA DEKHEN ZARA before, was it the case of some old times being remembered when they reunited for PLAYERS?

"Yes of course, the comfort level was way better this time around. Even when we had come together in AA DEKHEN ZARA, there was a bonding that we had developed over a period of time. This time around the bonding was further consolidated because we had others who joined in all the fun as well. Frankly, with the kind of cast that our film boasts of, the entire experience of making it was exponentially far more enjoyable," gleams Neil, "Since this is a character oriented film with no hero and heroine, we too considered ourselves as 'players' participating as a team."

Well, we would like to give this team a dekko when it arrives on 6th January.
