Producer and actor Saif Ali Khan launched the first trailer of his much awaited filmAGENT VINOD. And going by the slick promo, the style of action, the way Saif's character has been presented/introduced and its overall aura, the film is being hailed as the Indian version of James Bond movie or Saif as Indian James Bond.
When asked director Sriram Raghavan, he said, "When I was a kid I used to watch James Bond movies. The opening sequence of the film used to be so exciting that while watching it I used to decide to see the movie again. It's a terrific feeling. We have tried our best to incorporate that feeling in the film AGENT VINOD."
However Saif doesn't want his film AGENT VINOD to be compared with James Bond or his films. "A lot of people will think AGENT VINOD is Indian version of James Bond film and we have tried to copy James Bond. But copying it would be a very stupid thing to do. First of all James Bond is completely an English character. He is like a capitalist hero who is okay to drink and womanize and still he is a role model. AGENT VINOD is not that. From the first scene of the film you'll realize he is an Indian hero who is very different to the bond character. We don't want to make a copy of a bond film," said Saif.
Saif added, "India has always had a kind of an interest in the characters that are special. There have been such films in the past which generated interest. But we thought if we could make it in a contemporary way given the emerging global Indian personality it would be interesting to create a character that would be completely Indian. At the same time as Sriram said there would be little bit of Bond touch, may be the clothes, but there's also a little bit of Jason bond and also little bit of TIN TIN."
Also starring Kareena Kapoor, AGENT VINOD is all set to hit the screens on March 23rd 2012.
