Sonakshi wary of Sallu?

Sallu’s ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ has allegedly made Sonakshi change the release date of her film

Sonakshi proves that Sallu matters most!

When the Salman- Sonakshi starrer action film ‘Dabangg’ opened in theatres in 2010 it became the one of the highest grossing film of B’wood. It not only catapulted newcomer Sonakshi Sinha to instant fame but also made her firmly believe along with co-star Sallu that the period of Eid-ul-Fitr, during which ‘Dabangg’ was released, proved to be auspicious for the film.

Thus, with Sallu’s ‘Wanted’ and ‘Bodyguard’ which were both smash hits having been released during Eid, Sonakshi made up her mind that her upcoming movie ‘Lootera’ should also hit the theatres during ‘Eid.’ But something made her change her plans.
Apparently when the 24-year-old newbie found out that Sallu’s ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ with on-again, off-again love Katrina Kaif was releasing during the same time she became cautious about avoiding a clash. Thus, Sonakshi and the makers of ‘Lootera’ pushed the release date of the movie to October 26, on the day of Bakri- Eid.

Salman’s Eid release for ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ itself was initially a surprise to the makers of ‘Lootera’ as the movie was scheduled to hit the theatres on June 1, 2012. But later they learnt that Sallu had been requested by Aamir to postpone the release date of ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ since he wanted his film ‘Taalash’ to be released on the same date.

Sonakshi’s ‘Lootera’ which has been directed by Vikramaditya Motwane (‘Udaan,’ ‘Dev D’) is a love story set in the 50s,’ and sees her romancing ‘Band Baaja Baarat’ star Ranveer Singh. The movie has already created quite a buzz with the rumoured off-screen love brewing between Sonakshi and Ranveer. For now, it remains to be seen whether Sonakshi can get lucky twice with an ‘Eid’ release for her movie.
